The PPI deadline is fast approaching, The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has announced that after 29th August 2019 customers are no longer able to submit complaints against banks/lenders.

What we originally thought would be a short-term recruitment peak, the increased requirement for PPI specialists across all levels has continued to rise on a rolling basis, mainly through the need for extra support in financial services businesses with back-logged cases. Great news for contractors, and recruitment agencies … but, what will happen to this talent pool after the deadline?
We firmly believe it is all about transferable skills and supporting businesses and candidates to understand about these abilities and how they can be applied to a range of different jobs and industries.
Transferable skills come from both work experience and personal interests – both are equally as important as we have particularly seen an increase in the importance of ‘culture fit’ in financial services organisations.
We advise that CV’s reflect transferable skills to highlight versatility and mouldable experience that would offer knowledge other candidates wouldn’t have – employers need to think outside of the box, and your CV should tell them why!
Here are 7 transferable skills that you should include on your CV;

- Leadership skills
- Time management
- Prioritisation
- Delegation
- Listening
- Communication
- Research and analysis
Read over the job description for the role you are applying to. You should tailor your CV to demonstrate the transferable skills relevant to the requirements of the role. Always expand on any skills you mention with real-life examples (and, if possible, results).
It is equally important that you include all key words and acronyms relevant to your experience and the financial services industry. Employers and recruiters will be interested to read that you are an ‘expert’ and really know your stuff. This will make your CV relevant for a wider range of roles within the sector and increase your chance of landing your next exciting role!
We have lots of jobs within financial services, visit the job search page on our website to find out more.

If you need support with your CV or to discuss your experience and requirements, please do not hesitate to contact the team. We are more than happy to help!
